Description

Silently, the gothic angel walks down the corridor
A curtain of black hair hanging
Keeping her safe from the outside world
Dressed in ebony, no one can see the pain
Behind the mask she wears each day
Feeling pain at every comment
At every word she brushes off like dirt
Like dust, over time, and there is so much
Waiting to choke her, quietly suffocating...
Misunderstood, she gazes at the brightly colored monsters
Her tormenters that capture her in this hell
Her dark eyes see through the lies they cast to fit in

Paper dolls standing all in a row
Cut out to be the same
All pointing and laughing, mocking words
Being thrown at the girl for being different
For being herself, the one thing they hate
Standing strong, no one sees her cry
As she hides herself from the world over and over again

Her parents grimace as she glides through the door
Black doesn't suit the whiteness around her
Disapproving stares from all directions
Caught in the eyes, she sees her relfection
A distorted image of evil, and they cant see
Just who she is inside

Standing alone, porcelain skin
White ivory under the stars
She lifts her face up in the night
And wonders why no one cares

Danger is eluded, or so they assume
Every time they see her near
She can't be trusted, cant be a friend
And the paper dolls will never know...

Standing strong, as no one sees her cry
The gothic statue, ebony marble under the moon

I couldn't decide which of your photos to comment on, because they're all stunning. You have such an eye for simple beauty, color, contrast, and mood. Very inspiring. I love the stillness of your images, like little quiet moments frozen in time.

I chose this one because I love statues, especially as they age. And the way the light falls over her is lovely.
